Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a sweet and gentle girl named Cinderella. She was kind to everyone, whether it was people, animals, or even the tiniest bird in the garden. Sadly, her life was not easy. After her mother passed away, her father remarried, and Cinderella gained a stepmother and two stepsisters.
The stepmother was proud and cruel, and her daughters were selfish and unkind. They made Cinderella do all the housework—sweeping, scrubbing, cooking, and mending. While they wore fine dresses and went to parties, poor Cinderella had to wear old clothes and sleep near the fireplace, which left her covered in ashes. That is how she got her name—Cinderella.
One day, an announcement came from the king’s palace. The prince was holding a grand ball, and every young maiden in the kingdom was invited. The stepmother and stepsisters were excited. They dressed in their best gowns and left for the ball, laughing at Cinderella when she wished to go.
After they left, Cinderella sat alone by the fire and began to cry. Suddenly, a gentle light filled the room, and her fairy godmother appeared! With a wave of her magic wand, she turned Cinderella’s ragged dress into a sparkling gown and her old shoes into shining glass slippers. A pumpkin became a golden carriage, and mice turned into horses.
“Go to the ball, my dear,” said the fairy godmother, “but remember—you must return before midnight, for the magic will end.”
Cinderella thanked her and went to the ball. When she entered the palace, everyone stopped to admire her beauty. The prince himself was enchanted. He danced only with Cinderella, forgetting all others.

As the clock neared midnight, Cinderella remembered her fairy godmother’s warning. She quickly ran out of the palace, leaving behind one of her glass slippers on the staircase.
The prince was determined to find her. The next day, he sent his servants across the kingdom with the slipper. Every maiden tried it on, but it fit no one. At last, they came to Cinderella’s home. Her stepsisters tried to squeeze their feet into the slipper, but it was no use.
When Cinderella shyly asked to try, her stepmother laughed. But the slipper slid on her foot perfectly! At that very moment, her fairy godmother’s magic shimmered, and Cinderella appeared in her beautiful gown. The prince knew she was the one.
He married Cinderella, and they lived happily ever after. The kind and gentle girl who once sat by the fireplace became a princess, loved by all.
Moral of the Story:
“Kindness, patience, and hope can turn even the darkest days into the brightest happily-ever-after.”
