Once upon a time in a peaceful land in India, the Wind and the Sun were having a friendly argument. Each claimed to be stronger than the other.
The Wind blew hard and fast and said, “I am clearly the strongest. I can knock down trees, push boats across rivers, and fly kites into the sky!”
The Sun smiled gently and replied, “True strength doesn’t always come from force. Sometimes, a soft approach can be more powerful.”
To settle the debate, they spotted a traveler walking along a dusty road below, wearing a shawl wrapped tightly around him. The Wind said, “Let’s have a contest. Whoever can make the traveler remove his shawl will be declared the strongest.”
The Sun agreed.
The Wind went first. He blew with all his might. The trees swayed, the dust rose from the road, and the traveler’s shawl flapped wildly. But instead of removing the shawl, the traveler held onto it even tighter, wrapping it more securely around himself.

The Wind blew harder and harder, but the more he blew, the more the traveler clutched his shawl, shivering and uncomfortable.
Finally, the Wind gave up.
Then it was the Sun’s turn. He gently shone his warm rays down on the traveler. The air slowly became warm and pleasant. The traveler began to loosen his shawl. As the Sun continued to shine kindly, the traveler smiled, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and finally took off the shawl completely, carrying it on his arm.
The Wind was amazed.
The Sun simply said, “Kindness and warmth are sometimes more powerful than force and anger.”
Moral of the Story:
"Gentle kindness often achieves what force and fury cannot."
