The Journey from Self to Soul

Beloved seekers of truth,

Life is not merely the rising and setting of the sun, nor the endless pursuit of worldly desires. Life is a sacred pilgrimage — a journey from the self that clings to the body and mind, to the soul that is eternal, pure, and boundless. To walk this path is to awaken to the truth of who we are and why we are here.

The Nature of the Self

The self, as most understand it, is a bundle of identity, roles, and desires. It says, “I am this name, this body, this profession, this relation.” Yet, this self is transient. The body changes, roles shift, possessions fade, and relationships evolve. If we cling only to this surface identity, we remain entangled in sorrow and fear.

The Light of the Soul

Beyond this changing self shines the soul — untouched, immortal, and infinite. The soul is the divine spark within, the silent witness of all experiences. It is not bound by birth or death, by success or failure. To realize the soul is to taste true freedom, to experience a bliss that no external circumstance can disturb.

The Path of Awakening

The question arises: how do we journey from self to soul? Children, the path is one of inner discipline and surrender. Through meditation, selfless service, prayer, and detachment from fleeting pleasures, the mind becomes clear. As the clouds part to reveal the sun, so too does the restless self dissolve, revealing the radiance of the soul.

Duty on the Path

Do not mistake the journey for abandonment of worldly duties. Just as a lotus blooms in muddy water yet remains untouched, so must you fulfill your responsibilities with awareness. Perform your Dharma with love, but do not let the false self bind you with pride or possession. In every act, remember the soul within, and your duties become offerings to the Divine.

The Destination of Unity

The journey from self to soul is not merely inward; it is upward. When the soul is realized, separation ends. The wave recognizes it is the ocean, and the spark realizes it is the eternal flame. This is union with the Divine — moksha, liberation, the supreme goal of life.

The Higher Call

Beloved ones, awaken to this truth: you are not just the fleeting self; you are the timeless soul. Do not remain asleep in the dream of possessions and ego. Walk courageously from the surface to the depth, from illusion to truth, from self to soul. In this realization, the purpose of life is fulfilled, and the eternal bliss of the Divine becomes your true home.
