Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a childless couple who longed for a family. One day, their wish was granted when they found a baby mongoose abandoned near their home. Filled with joy, they adopted the little creature and named him Raj.
As Raj grew, he became a beloved member of the family, providing companionship and filling their home with happiness. The couple, in turn, showered Raj with love and care.
One day, the couple had to go to the neighboring town for some urgent work. Before leaving, the wife cautioned her husband, "Be careful, my dear. While we are away, keep an eye on Raj. He is like our child, and I would hate for anything to happen to him."
The husband agreed, and the couple left for the town. Meanwhile, a cobra living in the same village had been watching the mongoose with envy. Fueled by jealousy, the cobra decided to take revenge and harm the mongoose in any way possible.
The cobra slithered into the couple's home, seeking an opportunity to attack Raj. However, Raj, sensing danger, bravely confronted the cobra. A fierce battle ensued, and Raj managed to kill the cobra to protect his home.
When the couple returned, they were shocked to find their home in disarray. The husband, seeing Raj covered in blood and assuming the worst, jumped to a hasty conclusion. He thought Raj had attacked his wife.
Blinded by rage and grief, the husband grabbed a stick and struck Raj without a second thought. As he swung the stick, he accidentally hit his wife, who had been hiding in fear. Both Raj and the wife lay injured.
Realizing the terrible mistake, the husband was filled with remorse. He quickly tended to his wife's wounds, and they realized the loyalty and love Raj had shown by protecting them from the cobra.
Despite their regret, it was too late for Raj. The loyal mongoose succumbed to his injuries, proving his loyalty even in the face of a tragic misunderstanding. The couple, devastated by the loss of their faithful friend, learned a valuable lesson about the consequences of acting without proper understanding.
The moral of the story is to be cautious and not act impulsively based on assumptions. It reminds us of the importance of trust, loyalty, and the need to carefully consider our actions before passing judgment.
