Prepare Cauliflower Peas Masala at Home

Here's a recipe for Cauliflower Peas Masala:


  • 1 small cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Heat oil in a pan or kadai over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.
  2. Add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
  6. Add the cauliflower florets and green peas. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spice mixture.
  7. Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the cauliflower and peas are tender, stirring occasionally. It may take around 15-20 minutes.
  8. Once the vegetables are cooked, sprinkle garam masala and give it a final mix. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
